A new school. She still had to decide if she liked this one or not. It was a lot bigger then the last one she had been at, and even though it was only the second day, she felt extremely disconnected. Everyone else seemed happy in their ways, and quite content in their preformed ancient groups. Maybe auditioning for something could slide her into it. She really didn't know though, it was stressful thinking over it.
She groaned as the basketball bounced off the rim, slowly bouncing onto the ground, brushing hair out of her eyes before slowly walking over to pick it up. Her game was totally shot today, and it was ticking her off, normally she did a lot better then that. Dribbling the ball as she walked over to the freethrow line, she bent down, ball on the ground next to her as she retied the laces on her shoes.
She sighed as her music quit again, removing the MP3 player from the back pocket of her denim shorts and turning it on again, pressing play before sliding it back into her pocket. Running a hand through her copper coloured locks before picking up the basketball. Singing along to the sounds of cabaret playing out of the earbud in her left ear. She only had half an hour left before someone came and told her to go home.
She bit her lip as she stood up, eyeing the hoop as she raised the basketball, aiming for the basket once more.
The sound of the basketball swishing through the hoop was extremely welcomed. "Thank you!" She said with a laugh, looking up at the ceiling for a moment before dashing off to grab the ball.
Nothing but basket.

Ryan randomly walked into the Gym, trying to find something to do. He heard a voice, a singing voice, coming from inside, and wanted to see who it was. Standing beside the door and watching an auburn haired girl shoot a basketball and sing a song from Cabaret, he grinned. As she shot the ball into the hoop, he clapped a little.
He rolled up the sleeves of his turquoise button-down shirt, pulled up his pants, and picked up the ball that was rolling toward him. As he held it out to her, his eyes smiling, he said softly, "Hey, I'm Ryan. Here's your ball..."

"What good is sitting alone in your room? Come hear the music play. Life is a Cabaret, old chum, Come to the Cabaret."
She hadn't really been expecting anyone to be standing there watching her play, she didn't like people lurking about when she was singing. It was when she made a goof of herself, and messed up far to often. A blush had all ready tinted her cheeks as she slowly made her way over to him, managing a soft smile.
Well this would be what, her second conversation at the school? Wonderful. "Thanks," she said softly as she took it from his hands, resting it against her side, other hand running through her hair. "I'm Cassidy," she said after a moment of silence, "How long were you there for?" She asked with a soft laugh.

"You're welcome." he said politely, like all curtious high school boys should do. As she took the ball from his hands, he looked into her face and smiled. She's pretty cute. he thought to himself. "Oh, about... a minute or so?" he answered her question, blushing a bit. "May I say you're really good?" he said, running a hand slowly through his soft blonde hair.

The smile stayed on her lips, though she momentarily lowered her gaze, looking down at the floor of the gym, shifting her weight from one foot to the other before looking back at him. She laughed softly, followed with a shrug of her shoulders, "You just saw the good end of it. I've missed every other shot for the last 20 minutes." She stopped looking down again, then again he could be talking about her singing, though she doubted that. Most guys cared more about sports then singing, right?
Well not at this school.

Laughing softly, his eyes stayed on her. "Well, I meant your singing, but you play basketball better than me, I dare say." he said. Just then, he did something really different than what he would've done. He stole the basketball out of Cassidy's hands, grinning, and tore down the court towards the basket, dribbling the ball. He wasn't very good at basketball, but with a breath of air, he jumped up and shot it, and for once in his life it actually went in the hoop. Grinning, he passed the ball to Cassidy, and slowly walked back toward her. "That's actually the first shot that's gone in for me. I guess you're making me lucky." he said, still grinning.

"My singing's not that good either, but thank you." The pink tinge was still on her cheeks though she was smiling. Maybe a new school wouldn't be that bad, if everyone was as nice as Ryan was being it wouldn't be that horrible. "Hey!" She said laughing as he stole the ball, turning around and taking a few steps after him, stopping as she watched him take the shot, clapping her hands. "I've heard people say I'm lucky," she said with a grin, passing the ball back and forth from hand to hand as she watched him come back. "You're honestly not that bad though," she said with a nod as if she was agreeing with herself. "So, how long have you been going to this school for?" She asked, pulling her MP3 out of her pocket and turning it off, removing the earbud from her ear, returning it to her pocket.

"You're lying." Ryan said flirtatiously, as she said her singing was not good. Shaking his head, still grinning, he watched her swish the ball back and forth in her hands. "Thanks." he added as she commented on his basketball playing, still grinning. "I've been here since my freshman year, I think!" he said, scratching his head as if he forgot, laughing.

"It isn't good to lie though," she said playfully smile on her lips as she stopped moving the basketball, resting it on her hip as she kept her eyes on him. He was really nice, she liked that. He seemed a lot more polite then other guys she had come in contact with. "You don't remember?" She said, laughter not only leaving her lips but dancing in her eyes as she rested her other hand on the belt loop of her shorts. "I'm new, if you didn't catch that." She said smiling as she walked by him, dribbling the ball though debating about actually shooting it. The odds weren't on her side today.

Grinning still, his grin growing bigger, "Well, It's just been so long since Freshman Year." he said, sighing, remembering his days as a freshman, remembering when he was Sharpay's pet twenty-four-seven. Smirking, he watched her walk past him. "I knew it!" he exclaimed, smiling, making a move to steal the ball away from her.
