Gabriella had walked into homeroom from her locker which wasn't to far away. She walked over toward her desk as she sat down ontop of it waiting for someone she knew to come and talk to her. She pushed her hair out of her eyes, as she looked at the large clock behind Darbus's desk.

Ms. Darbus sat at her desk, taking another sip of her tea. She watched as her students filed in. "Hurry students, hurry! I have an announcment about the musicale!" she said, very antixous to get the news out.
Troy walked into the room and sat in a seat next to Gabriella. He smiled at her and gave her a small kiss. "Good morning, honey."
"Bolton! Montez! No kissing in class!" Ms. Darbus yelled.

Rolling his eyes at Ms. Darbus when she commented on them kissing, Ryan walked into homeroom and sighed. Sitting down in his seat, he took out his cellphone and put it on silent, then whipped it back in his bag. As he waited for Darbus to start Homeroom, he yawned, taking random pens and a notebook out. Megan really didn't feel like being here today, she would rather be with her father helping with the magazine but she had to come to school. Her father always says that school comes first. This was her first year in Ms. Darbus's homeroom and she was nervous at first but seeing everyone's faces that she knew felt welcoming.
Slowly she found her seat in the back and took a seat taking out her blue notebook and pens. There was always some kind of note to take down from Ms. Darbus, mostly about the next school play.

Kelsi passed on her normal spot in the front of the class. She was too tired. Her sisters had kept her up for half the night.
She knew Ms. Darbus was announcing the Musical today. She wondered what she had decided on. Either way she knew she would have to memorize some amazing music.
She looked at Megan, "So do you think you will be participating in the musical?"

Megan had slowly turned her seat to face Kelsi when she heard her speaking to her, "who me? Ah, no," she replied pushing her dark locks over her slender shoulders. She wasn't much of a singer, or she thought but she did love to dance. Only problem was her stage fright, yeah she had it and wasn't sure if she would ever get over it. "maybe if they need back up dancers. Way way in the back," she felt herself smile, "what about you? I bet Ms. Darbus will have you doing every song."

"Well, she does it for my benefit, I need all the practice I can get if I want to make it big. This is one of the only musicals at East High that I didn't write."
She thought about it for a second.
"Ms. Darbus might need a few backup dancers, we will just have to wait and see."

Megan give a light nod of her head, "I think your work is great. I have a feeling that you're going to do just fine in the big world," she paused for a moment to look past her and toward the front of the class then let her blue eyes fall on Kelsi again, "yeah maybe but if not I'll be happy just to work backstage this year," she felt herself smile.

The school bell rang, meaning homeroom had started. Not all the students were here, but that was okay because Ms. Darbus couldn't hold it in anymore. "Well, children! As you know, we usually hold two musicales. One in the Winter and one in the Spring. Well, just to jazz things up, I added a third musicale and took out the Winter musicale. So, instead of Winter...it will be Autumn!" she announced, some of the kids looking confused.
"Sadly, this musical is not written by our young composer, Kelsi Neilson. Instead...I've boughten the rights to preform one of my favorite musicals! Drum roll please," she said, point to Troy.
Troy shrugged his shoulders and started to bang on his desk, in a rythmic fashion. He stopped right when Ms. Darbus said the name.
"We'll be preforming...Hairspray!" she announced, very loudly. Some of the kids made happy noises and others made very happy noises.

Gabriella looked at Troy and smiled as she sat down in her desk. She heard of the new musical 'Hairspray' as she looked a bit. Disappointed, she wasn't sure if she'd even try out this time. She looked down at her hands as she pushed some hair out of her face.
